Reading Room #5: Angels and Insect's
An A.S. Byatt novel came to mind as the perfect reading material to pair with this Victorian inspired greenhouse. I think I would read few chapters of the novella "Morpho Eugenia" from Byatt's "Angels and Insects". It would be easy to imagine one had slipped into the conservatory described in the novella to spy on a the building and unraveling of a marriage within the Alabaster house hold.

Where I'm Living at the Moment
I've been spending the last couple of days on the Channel Islands at least in my minds eye. Thanks to my literary resolution and The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society. I'm looking out at the sea from the high cliffs enjoying the salt air and wild flowers. Fear of heights aside I think I would enjoy roaming this little English Isle.
I was looking for actual images and stumbled upon these paintings by Renoir. Turns out he spent time painting on the island. These are two of the canvases he produced. It's nice how reading something leads you to find something else which is a major theme in the book.

Jasper Conran's Country

I think I could be happy living in the pages of Jasper Conran's new book Country. I'm looking forward to getting a chance to browse through a copy of the book, even if it's only in the book store. Although, I suspect I'll be tempted to break the bank and take a copy home. It's looks like a book one could sink into a comfy chair with and get happily lost in.
