Eyjafjallajokul

Looking at the photos of the Eyjafjallajokul volcano, I think thank goodness I don't live in Iceland. It's not that I don't love Iceland and it's numerous volcanoes, I do. I think I could deal with ash spewing all over the place, but I would never be able to spell anything correctly let alone pronounce it.

I'm sure those in the path of the ash cloud are none too pleased with Eyjafjallajokul, but from my safe distance, I'm really enjoying the surreal visuals this powerhouse is generating. You can see more here and here.

Staycation - The Blue Lagoon

I'd love to be basking in the midnight sun of Iceland this summer not to mention the geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon. Alas the budget does not permit. Last time I was there the Blue Lagoon was still just a small structure with separate shower and dressing areas for men and women. On my list of things to do, check out the suped up version and the rest of Reykjavik. Luckily in the meantime the Blue Lagoon has a lovely line of spa products made with algae, silica, and minerals harvested from the lagoon. Some of my favorites are the Algae & Mineral Body Scrub and the Mineral Intensive Cream.
