More Fantastic Foxes
I have to say I'm a little obsessed with these creatures lately. It's certainly lovely to catch glimpses of one first hand.
Our neighborhood fox shows up at the oddest times and he is fast. I usually realize he is around when I sense something has just whizzed past the window. Then if I'm lucky, I catch him on his rounds or going on his way into the woods. He has been a highlight of the winter.

Let's Stay Home

That has been our home body motto of late. Really, if I had a dollar for every time my little one said that recently, we'd need to carry a big money bag to the bank. The bank might just tempt her to get out considering the free lollipops.
Lollipops aside, we are very content to just be at home lately. I guess if you have to go through a reclusive period, February is the perfect month.
This perfect for us poster is available on Etsy from Ashely G and Drew.

Bonjour Work Week

I'm trying to be cheery this week but wish the snowy weekend had been longer. I really enjoyed how the snow shook up our weekend routine and made for a lazy weekend.
I like this simple poster. It would make a great reminder to greet each day. And if you're going to wake up and declare "hello day" why not say it in French.

All the Rain in London
It feels as if all the rain in London poured down on us this weekend and the weather report for the week ahead is none too promising. Time to think up some more indoor activities. This past weekend we made Thai Chicken Curry, Blueberry Pirate Muffins (they had pirate cupcake liners), and traded off between watching House Hunter's International and Shaun the Sheep. What's your favorite rainy day activity?

Escapism

Some days I wish I had my own secret garden, magic wardrobe, or rabbit hole to escape into. This poster from Atlantic Treefox seems a perfect entry way for some serious day dreaming.
The escapist in me would like to hang one of this image above my desk or bed as a reminder to take time to let my imagination run and indulge in a little childlike sense of wonder each day.

Nevermind the Bullocks it's Another Royal Wedding

It's a little hard not to think of England this past week as the gossip shows plaster the royal couple-to-be across the airways. I'm actually disappointed that the wedding is on a work day here in the states. I think I would have enjoyed watching the wedding or what will be shown of it. It's always amusing to hear commentators cover these types of events. Gather some royals and celebrities, throw in a few facts, fill lots of air time with pure speculation and your have hours of entertainment. I hope some network is brilliant enough to rebroadcast the whole thing at a time when one can glue oneself to the tellie for a few hours.

Ever Get That Sinking Feeling?

I'm a little skeptical about the historical accuracy of this print but it is a good reminder to find something positive in any situation and/or to add music when you find yourself in a jam.

when my daughter announces it's a sunny shiny day" even when it's grey outside
nice art books
when the floor is freshly vacuumed and the toys are all put away (lasts five minutes)
a great pair of shoes
splashing in a pool on super hot days
checking tough "to dos" off my list
the way my daughter says "the end" instead of "amen" when she says her bedtime prayers
shopping for little clothes
looking at blogs
watching the deer in our backyard
when the laundry is all done (almost never)
freshly painted finger nails and manicured toes
"purizes" (surprises) from my daughter

End of the Weekend Inspiration

I love quiet Sundays at home and wish they could be twice as long. It's time to make sure that everything is set for the beginning of the work week and I can already feel its pull. As Sunday night winds down this print titled "Homestead" from Beauchamping sums up where my head and heart are tonight.
